Flag Football

Sports Season: AUGUST – October

Flag Football is a new sport for Special Olympics Nevada.  It is fast becoming one of the most popular sports.  Flag Football consists of unified team play and individual skill competition.  Unified teams bring athletes with and without intellectual disabilities together on the same team.  The individual Skills competition is for those athletes who are learning the basic skills of the game.

Learn More About Football

We believe it is important for our coaches to receive certification training in order to provide them with the tools needed to help our athletes have a positive sports experience.  By taking the online certification training, coaches will learn best practices when approaching sports training with our athletes. Certification is required for certain coaching situations and is recommended for all coaches. Please also make sure to check out the SONV Rules for Flag Football (below).
